SIMIEN MOUNTAINS TREK. BIRD’S-EYE VIEW.

  

ITINERARY


Day 1: Arrive to Addis Ababa, well come by our team and transfer to your hotel – Visit the capital, its Mercato, Museums and street ambient - O/n Hotel.

Day 2: Fly to Gondar - Half-day city tour visiting the castle compound, the market and Debre Birhan Selassie church, nick named the African Sixteen Chapel - O/n Hotel.

Day 3: Drive to Debark, the main gate of the Simien Mountains National Park. The car will drop you three hours acclimatize walk before the camp - O/n Sankaber Camp (3200m)

Day 4: Full day trekking through the Simien escarpment visiting the endemic Gelada baboons where you meet your cook, luggage and mules for the camping gears - O/n Geech Camp (3600m)

Day 5: Trek to Chenek through Imet Go Go and Enatye picks - Spot the Walya Ibex, an endemic and localized animal to this area - O/n Chenek Camp (3600m)

Day 6: Trek to Ambico through the Buayt picks (4300) and descend to the camp - O/n Ambico Camp (3200m)

Day 7: Full day excursion to Ras Dashen, the highest pick of the Simien Mountains (4543m) and descend back to the Camp - O/n Ambico Camp (3200m)

Day 8: This day will take us away from the National Park through villages and farmlands, the altitude drops below 3000m to Sona - O/n Camping at Sona School.

Day 9: Tuff descends to Ensia River where we can swim, bath and picnic. After relaxing we have an hour and half trek to the next camp - O/n Camping at Lamo School.

Day 10: The trek of the day is shorter, but as altitude drops the heat of the day increases. After 5-6 hours trek, we will reach Mulit - O/n Camping at Mulit.

Day 11: Two and half hours descending to Addi Arkay, where we end the trek - The cars will drive us to Gonder - O/n Hotel.

Day 12: Fly back to Addis - Free time for shopping - Traditional Ethiopian dinner with folklore dance - Check in to your Intercontinental flight.
